IN MN 3rd Annual Literary Award
Irish Network Minnesota is hosting their annual Literary award again this year for Minnesota authors. Please send us your Irish, Ireland, Celtic related non-fiction work for a chance at our award of $1,000. Here are the details for submitting your work: Open call for submissions 2023 Submissions are open March 1, 2023 through June 1, 2023. Eligibility The entries will be judged on: Submission guidelines Electronic submissions (pdf or word format) via e-mail only, reprints and multiple submissions will be accepted if submitted by individual e-mail. IN Mn – Saint Patrick’s Day 2023
Irish Network MN at the St Patrick’s Day Parade. It was another great day for a parade in Saint Paul, Minnesota! A little bit chilly but still fun from the mass at the Cathedral of St Paul sponsored by the Ancient Order of Hibernians to the parade from Rice Park to Mears Park and CHS field. Tribute to Des
We lost a special friend and vital member of our Irish community this past January 2023. Board member, Des Keogh passed away at home on 1/5/23 surrounded by his loving family and wonderful wife Pat. Des was always the gentleman, an inspiration and role model to all of us. He showed us how to live and enjoy life fully. Irish Network MN remembers him in our sorrow and happy memories. Planning for a New Year
Irish Network Minnesota met recently to discuss and plan for 2023. We discussed our history and what we would like to accomplish in the coming year, 2023. IN MN is looking forward to hosting our Bloomsday Festival along with the Irish Network Bloomsday Literary Award again in June. We are also planning other events celebrating St Bridget’s Day (Feb 1st), St Patrick’s Day (Mar 17th) and multiple other local Irish cultural celebrations. More information to come in 2023.

Literary Award
IN MN Annual Bloomsday Literary Award Irish Network Minnesota hosts an annual Literary Award for local authors as part of our Bloomsday Festival. This year our contest will be open to published Minnesota authors of non-fiction with Irish or Irish American ties. More information will be available in the upcoming months.

An Evening with John Dingley
Presented by the Celtic Junction Arts Center Concert Series and Events. November 20 @ 6:30 pm $15.00 – $20.00 Join IN MN members for an evening of entertainment with local Welsh-native, singer, poet, actor, author, and character extraordinaire! John will also be signing copies of his latest book, A Visit Home. Presented by Out of the Mist Celtic Theatre and the St. David’s Society. Hardship to Hope: James Hack Tuke, Archbishop Ireland and the Irish Emigration of the 1800s
On Thursday, November 17, the Center for Irish Studies, and St. Thomas Libraries will co-host the Center for Irish Studies Fall 2022 Symposium. Originally distinguished as the first public event on campus that was cancelled in 2019 because of the pandemic, the Center and University Libraries are delighted to host three well-known scholars – Jane Kennedy, Leslie Thomas, and Charlie Heyman. The event will include the exhibition, “Fleeing from the Famine,” curated by Dr. Gerard Moran (National University of Ireland – Galway) and Dr. Christine Kinealy (Quinnipiac University). The exhibit is in the O’Shaughnessy- Frey Library lobby. The symposium will occur in room 108 (the “leather room” of the library…
